Are we still pretending ORAS was bad? Yes, they still have noticeable flaws and exclusions, but on the whole they are still great games with actual effort put into them compared to what we got later on.
Here are some common criticisms:
>too easy
Almost every Pokemon game is easy
>free latios/latias
Just don't use it
>delta episode story sucks
Fair
>no character customization
I personally don't give a shit but fair I guess
>altered/cut areas
Most of these are really minor, you're not missing out on much.
>story teleporting
I don't like it when it's forced, but optional teleports don't really harm the game.
>no game corner
Can't be helped because of legal shit
>no gym rematches
Fair
and last but not least
>no battle frontier
Look, it's not like there isn't a postgame. It might be copypasted straight from X&Y but at least it's not locked behind a paywall like in SwSh. This one is the most egregious offense of all the others I listed above, but the game was probably rushed so it's a miracle this was the only major casualty.
Overall I think the new features justify ORAS's existence & the pros mostly outweigh the cons.
