Some of you might be surprised to see Magcargo this low on the list, but I just don't think it's that good. Still, among the many pocket monsters of the Johto region, it stands out with its unique typing, good defense, and varied movepool

A fairly consistent Pokémon makes its way to #9. Whether you catch it in Johto or in any other generation, Magcargo is sure to at least fill one team slot in your party once you've captured it, especially if you've only captured 6 Pokémon thus far on your adventure.

Perhaps a bit of a controversial choice, Magcargo is most definitely a Pokémon with a high skill floor: Only the most dedicated of trainers will be able to dig through Magcargo's ressources, and they will be rewarded sizeably, with a Pokémon that's definitely Magcargo.

Nope, it's not #1, or even in the Top 3! As a stern opposite to #8, Magcargo is a Pokémon that's so easy to fit into your team, and such well-oiled, accessible win conditions that it's become a very popular choices among beginners & veterans alike. Its sharp decline amidst rising counterplay from threats such as Magcargo unfortunately keeps it this low.

What is there to say? From its beginning in Pokémon Gold & Silver, Magcargo became an instant classic. I'd feel offended to have to elaborate any further for you guys, so i'm just going to let you bask in its greatness for a bit as we move on to #5.
