>>20095403Thanks for being so open-minded. If I come off as hostile about Awakening, it's mostly because newer fans of the series hate hearing what I have to say about it. /r/fireemblem was particularly nasty in that regard.
Class homogenization, the weapon triangle being pointless, and overall massive power creep rendering growth rates meaningless really made me turn off my brain while playing Awakening, even during Lunatic, since if I reached a point that was difficult(entirely because of spikes in enemy stats and nothing to do with strategy) I could jump out and grind. I should never, ever turn my brain off in a strategy game. It's why I dislike Disgaea, the grinding is brainless and entirely necessary. I like the resource management of Roguelikes, but I typically don't like the gameplay, but with Fire Emblem I feel that it has enough management while also being interesting that it's always entertaining. Awakening isn't.
And this isn't even me complaining about the plot, which I could do for hours.
