No one complained or argued about this before, so do we really need more type bloat just to appeal to a small number of autists? I mean Grass includes fungi. Dark can represent underhanded fighting tactics, belligerent creatures, or literal darkness. Fairy type isn't limited to just fairies but can be for any kind of folklore creature or even puns such as "fairy floss". A few Dragon types are just dinosaurs or Japanese puns. All that said, nobody with half a brain is arguing for a Fungi type or to split Dark type into "Evil" and a literal "Dark" type. Again, types can represent more than a single concept and people are fine with it. Psychic can represent the idea of cosmic energy in the Pokemon world whether you think so or not.
