>>23539909>Do the packs have anything playable or just cool in generalBoth Magma and Aqua have had a near-zero tournament presence, so no. All the Trainers are pretty neat, but the Pokemon themselves are absolute garbage outside of making a fun deck. I really hope it gets more support in a future set, but it realistically won't.
The most competitively-viable deck you could make would be something like Camerupt EX/Team Magma's Camerupt. Accelerate energies onto the Magmas, then use EX's attack to discard them every turn. Four Camerupts on the bench adds up to 200 damage a turn from the Camerupt EX.
Or if you don't like Camerupt, use the Magma Camerupts alongside Team Magma's Aggron. It's Stage 2, but it gets the benefit of working with Maxie's Ball Trick and getting to attack off a single DME attach, on top of not being an EX.
There's also a gimmick deck with Team Aqua's Seviper/Laser/Munna, and you can run Groudon/Kyogre with Silent Lab. Groudon works well with Crobats and Landorus for acceleration.
The set also has some of the best
and lewdest art in the game.
