>>53926644>>53926794even though DP is a direct continuation of AG, there is a certain point early in DP where it changes to something completely different from any other Pokemon series. I don't mean different as in how XY was different, but I mean as every aspect of the story felt to be something unique. It felt like DP was or could have or was supposed to be its own series. As if they already had an ending in mind for DP but changed it last minute to continue Ash's journey.
I believe that the contributing factors to DP's uniqueness are, Ash and Dawn's relationship(romantic), Dawn as a character, Cythina, Cynthia as a "face" of a final hurdle, The pokemon league, Team Galactic, Hunter J's ever-present and real threat, TR, and Looker with the international police. I will make another more in-depth post one day but that is it for now.
while pic related is a shipping image, and Ash and the relationship do have something to do with the uniqueness of DP, I think that the image also captures how DP felt overall as a series.
