If Sword and Shield's plot was instead about Rose and the League being corrupt like what was speculated about, Team Yell could've fit into the plot like a glove. An actual team of punks opposing the League, Rose, Dynamax and the commercialization of Pokemon battle, and what it's done to their hometown.
Instead, we've got a team of animated roadblocks supporting an otakubait moeblob, and Piers, who is the only one out of the whole lot who has any punk in him at all.
What wasted potential.
