>>25014759Story is almost always the weakest part of any hack, honestly, even the good ones either have kind of lame stories or they make their stories as by-the-numbers as possible to avoid cringe (not that there's anything wrong with that).
One hack that I've praised a lot for having a surprisingly good story is Dark Energy. The beginning doesn't make it seem so but after it gets going they do a good job at introducing and developing characters and villains; even if they could all be summed up with a couple anime tropes it's still executed better than most hacks (I've heard the author is going to redo the start to make it better match the tone of later parts next beta, too).
