Doing too much is unspritable and looks supremely tacky. There's also hexadecimal and binary iconography you're not spotting and that is way more than enough to make it "computery." It's not about total accuracy. It's about what is going to provoke recognition. If you try to be totally accurate you're just going to date yourself anyway and be stuck in the past even more.
