It turned out the search term "mega" (as in "mega 1-2", "mega 0", "mega 3") was directly tied to the label of the Pokédex category, so changing it to "Mega & Primal Reversion" broke the search term for a period of time because of the use of the ampersand character.
The error message when trying to use primal reversion on Groudon or Kyogre with insufficient energy also reads "Mega Energy", not "Primal Energy".
