I hatched a shiny Qwilfish in 16 eggs yesterday while I was breeding egg moves onto it. 6IV HA aswell. Right after that I went to hunt Sandile and got it in 46 encounters lol.

Yes, depending on the pokemon I pick specific balls. Went for Love Ball on my shiny Heracross cuz of the pink color and the heart shaped horn females have, ended up being male. Oh well.

Def Espeon, I actually liked it in gen 5 but it's awful in 3D. Shiny Krookodile is the opposite, one of my favs now.
