I appreciate primarina for being the one of just a few starters between Gens 7 and 8 (and arguably 6) that looks like an animal. A strange animal, but one I could imagine swimming around in the wild (in pokemon world, at least) Yeah it's frilly but that alone isn't a deal breaker for me, animals have all sorts of reasons for looking strange but at least it doesn't look like a person in a costume
