I know Battle Frontier is going to be said a lot, but it really would have made the game damn near perfect.
There's Contests for an alternate thing instead of battling, Secret Bases as an extra, Buzznav with online stuff which is neat as shit, the PSS, and Delta Episode, frankly, it's built for long term play and has a ton to keep you coming back.
Except they half assed the post-game content for the games central mechanic, pure, simple battling and just copy pasted the fucking Maison.
They didn't even need to bring back Emeralds Frontier or anything just SOMETHING other than the Maison.
Otherwise the only things I'd add or all minor touches. The 3D and Amie along with contests help make your own Pokemon feel much more personal to you, which is great, but following Pokemon + more news ribbons would have been nice too.
