>>53728138>>53728132>>53728145>>53728205You know, honestly, I've been thinking about this. Why does the base game not take the sprite pack route to begin with? If they're so concerned with purity and being clean, wouldn't it be significantly easier to just use the basic generator sprites in the base game and then let people create importer packs and push those? You can select the sprites you use from the Pokedex to begin with, right? So it doesn't even matter if you have duplicates. There could even be an official one for the project, which means very little would change, the project leads would still have the power to vet stuff and they'd still be okaying or not okaying sprites and people making stuff and posting them on the discord would still be more likely to have their sprites seen because the official game could keep the official pack download in full view of the games download. But it would incentivize people to make more sprites and not worry about regulations that the community comes up with. As it stands, everything requires a vote and to be posted in the discord, doing this shit would mean less work for the team working on game and more available avenues for people who just want to have fun and do shit. It also means no more fighting and no more sprites getting getting removed or denied based on the opinions and whims of some random arbiter. Then the sub communities could do their own little sprite packs and not have to wait for discord voting and confirmation, too. Mope, the bara guys, whoever the fuck keeps making the fat Pokemon fusions, etc. These communities could all just have their own packs they'd be allowed to pitch at the community through the discord instead and if they have some they like they can put those up for official pack voting as well. So even if it doesn't get into the official pack, a sprite could still get into an unofficial pack.
