Kaiba is in a way defined by his loses so when we follow him he acts high and mighty but his motivation is for the salty runback.
I've seen it done by some rivals but most don't acknowledge their loses properly unless they are specifically meant to fall off as a rival. Silver kind of does but he also starts to come off as a little bitch boy at least in HGSS
