I looked forward to competative battles in this game alot. So I spend a shitton of time coming up with a fun, original team. Spend a shitton of time breeding for 5-6 IVs and training EVs.
Started doing alot of research on best movesets on /vp/ and smogon etcetcetc all the usual stuff.
So I was finally done with everything and I thought, hurray finally I can do some battling, signed up for ranked battles, HERE WE GO!
Single battles, the first thing I notice, you can only put in 3 pokemon, I thought "okayy... nobody told me this, I kinda made a team that involved all my pokemon but ok". Started battling, opponent only has a bunch of pokemon trained and bred on speed and attack, basically oneshots all my pokemon. Tried another battle, same shit, 4 battles later, all the same shit.
So I come back on /vp/ to ask what is up with this, why werent my pokemon able to do anything. The answer I got was: "Oh nobody plays on wi-fi, we all play on smogon simulator, wi-fi battles are basically just an OHKO fest".
Great, I wasted a shitton of time, built my pokemon completely wrong and now Im stuck with nothing.
All I wanted was to do competative battles, I dont care much for shinies or completing pokedex. I have no motivation left to play this game, but I dont really want to quit it yet either.
I need some inspiration, or somebody to tell me that Im wrong about wi-fi battles
