Like, you get a scrappy-looking alley cat that's a Normal type with horrible stats. But as soon as it faints nine times, it evolves into a Normal / Ghost necromancer that commands the souls of its previous "lives" and its special stats burst through the roof. Visually, I think a "core" black cat with neon-colored markings making it look like a Day of the Dead skeleton surrounded by swirling blue-green cat spirits would hit the mark.
