They used the term "training" in the summary of the 7th episode with Cap, 17th episode summaries with Roy and his Wattrel Dilemma and the 20th episode for Kabu. Not ONCE was an episode, which had training in the title or in their summary, had an episode go without the Pokemon battling to train, so unless they do a complete left-field move to throw a discrepancy with the usage in april, it's not "speculation". The only speculation part I'll concede to is the motivation or the motive behind them joining the academy, but I am using consistency of previous summaries to back up the training episodes and them not being "speculation" as you say.
