I hope Latias is Ash's. No not because altomare shipping or because its a legendary. But because Latias has stuff that would make it a good travel companion for him in whatever special episodes they give him after this mini series when scarlet and violet is running.
1) Latias can take on the form of any person. Meaning if they want to, even as a gag, they could bring back any of his prior traveling companions in an instance by using Latias.
2) Latias, aside from their normal pokecries, is often depicted as mute when they take on a human appearence. Which means you don't need to have voice actors for her.
3) While not shown yet, its entirely possible for Latias, while in human form, to still be able to use their own battle moves. Which means Latias can still assist Ash in battles but never needs to catch a new pokemon or have one on hand.
