The best Pokemon game is never perfect, although those were the first iterations of it. These days, if you ask anyone in the development community whether they would have ever tried to create the Pokemon game differently, they would admit: no. When you play it, the game is not perfect but it does try to do everything possible to make it easy.
That's not to say Pokemon is perfect, or even that things like movement or the mechanics weren't improved over the years. Rather, the idea of creating a title like Pokemon Go that doesn't aim to be perfect doesn't make any sense.
The "Pokemon Go" title isn't the best game ever
The concept of PokeStops or "Pokemon Gyms" isn't one people can easily dismiss by simply saying, "Hey, this isn't exactly the best gameplay experience that was created." In fact, Pokemon was always pretty darn good in the sense you would expect for the Nintendo Game
