It might be more difficult to make, but I could pretty easily see a game made with fantastic replayability by just having the triggers cause the story to happen differently.
not to mention gym triggers so that they are set to be a certain level or have a certain amount of pokemon on their team based on the number of badges you have.
I could just as easily see a system where gym leaders are harder or easier based on the number of battles you have done and how many you have won versus lost so that it feels like they are testing you based on your skill level like they probably would if pokemon was real.or maybe im being autistic about this thought. i dunno
