Unexpected, but these events usually get special decorations that don't have to be custom fit for all islands.
My Ghost Pokemon aren't that great, but it'll probably be worth going to Expert anyways. I remember in a previous post that Expert bonuses are weighted against special event bonuses, meaning there should be a better chance for 2.4x berry power as the odd one out.
