>>48156577The Mars/Jupiter double battle went well, I led Bendova and targeted solely into Jupiter's side, Barry's lead Munchlax actually took most of the attacks, I guess because it started Stockpiling turn 1. Once Jupiter's side was done, I U-Turned on Mars' Bronzor into Ilima who handled Mars' side.
So one thing I actually didn't realize is that Cyrus starts literally right after Mars/Jupiter in DP, so Cyrus ended up close. Bendova led against Honchkrow and I just decided to attack, hitting Return and then U-Turning out to Ilima so I'd be in a good position for his Ilima, but he healed with a Super Potion so U-Turn didn't kill and then swapped into Gyarados mid turn. So I had to swap to Erin who took a fucking Giga Impact and killed with Thunderbolt. This prompted out Weavile which forced me to play the game of swapping to Ilima and dodging a crit Ice Punch but the AI thankfully went for the Brick Break which I could take and then kill with Close Combat thanks to some speed EVs. Crobat was very annoying and got very lucky with confusion and flinches but Lenora could take it out with Ice Beam. On Honchkrow Ilima swapped in, dodged a crit from Drill Peck and took it out with Quick Attack. Scary fight, and not super well played.
Surprisingly, Volkner, who I thought would be easier, actually ended up claiming the first life of the run, Mel the Lopunny, thanks to a crit and me underestimating how strong his Luxray was. He was easy enough besides but I hope that's not an omen.

>require a lot more planning than usual I think it just depends on your run. Water/Flying seem like they wouldn't really have a problem in most games, but you'd definitely need plans for things like Fire or Grass
