I just came back to the series and I just realized that Togekiss was created as the nemesis of Garchomp.
First of all both are introduced in gen 4 and Cynthia gives you a Togepi egg at the beginning of Platinum and we all know what her strongest pokemon is.
Then the typing (new and old) and the stats spread gives it also away.
Lastly thematically, just look at the names, a kiss juxtaposed to a chomp.
I wonder if there's some lore behind it that I missed hidden through game descriptions or environmental storytelling.
Is this something that's common knowledge among players? You would think so but I can't find anything googling.
