On the internet, there's no real consequences to anything generally, so the
only thing you need to get promoted to a position of authority on the internet
is not character, you just have to be a people pleaser. You just have to not
step on any toes and be around long enough, so... It's kind of the central
problem we're dealing with when people get promoted to moderator as defined by,
Apt-get, I presume, and roseyraid, and presumably the other moderators, and, I
don't think any of them have very much strength of character between them so
you've kind of got this broken machine trying to fix itself, so to Zarel and
Scotteh I say, just clean house. I would get rid of Apt-get. I would get rid of
all of the current moderation staff and just get new mods. Get new mods who 1.
leave modchat off, get new mods who take seriously the appointing of moderators
who just don't appoint their friends, and get mods who don't power abuse. You
know, all I want is for showderp to persist in the years to come and for
showderp to have a character that is always evolving, always changing. Because
if it's the same 50 people discussing the same things, that's not really a
scene I want to be a part of. And about me, about the "Clint" persona, - and I
will break character for a moment and say that it is a persona, it's about 75%
a fictional character and about 25% of my real beliefs. And, you know, they've
successfully banned that persona. I just can't express myself as that persona
anymore, which is what it is. I can use other personas and I can be other
people, and, you know, so that's really what the moderators have succeeded in
doing. And that's kinda lame, isn't it? Because I don't think this was really a
decision that the users made, I don't think the users were really like "let's
ban Clint", I think it was more of a moderator thing.
