I wasn't too interested in Pokemon when the 3DS came out, but eventually played all of its mainline games via CFW. I would've purchased them if I thought they were actually worth my money, but they were not. I kind of hate the transition to 3D and the way GF cuts corners and removes core features with every new entry.
The closest I've been to purchasing a Pokemon game I previously pirated was with Legends Arceus, but I still haven't gotten around to it. Maybe if I find it very cheap in the future idk.
