After 16 years, I've graduated from public school, gotten through college, and have started my PhD.
In this time, I've watched a lot of Pokemon.
After 16 years, I feel Ash's character has stunted. When I went through school (up through DP) I kinda saw myself growing up with him. Stupid, I know. At the same time, though, I learned to think before I speak, to assess situations, and plan movements better. At this time we watched Ash change from a child (dragging Pikachu by clothesline) to a competent trainer.
This past summer, though, I turned on the show to see Ash in BW, and really found him to be foolish. His moves don't make sense, his actions seem off, and his voice seems stale. I don't want to call him a "Little kid" - Iris does that enough and pisses me off to no end - but he isn't the same guy.
