The last episode was weird. It had a lot of positives but also a lot of flaws too. Flaws:
>Should really be splitted into two eps but I guess Tomiyasu is hellbent on keeping the episoding formula despite the fact it does not fit Pokemon (it could work in SM but SM is SM).
>Torkoal was turbo cucked out of fire ashmon wank and we did not get to see all oakmons which was sad.
>Infernape jobbed against Moltres. He should at least land one hit on it to show that his training is not going to waste.
Now the positives:
>Further confimation (after Charizard ep in BW in which was mentioned that birdmons are often racing against each other) that ashmons are not just jerking off at the lab like Go's (besides Scizor) but training regularly which explains why for example Noctowl showed a plethora of new moves in DP.
>Go getting denied his captures twice in a row and Moltres casually fighting everyone alone like a true legend. It felt great when the principles of catching mons and power of the legendaries were like during the good old days.
>Gary in general. From him watching the Sinnoh League, through his battle with Moltres to him outclassing Go in every way possible just like he did with Ash in the OS. No matter if you like Go or not, he needed someone to oppose him, to challenge his goal. And Gary Motherfucking Oak delivered.
So to sum it up: it was good but it has several flaws it shares with other nostalgia episodes in Journeys. Tomiyasu should really stop with that stupid episoding meme already.
