I had three deaths this run, Butterfree, Nidoqueen, and finally... My Blastoise "Artist". After destroying Blaine, Giovanni, and most of Pre-league Rival, he sends out Alakazam who hits a Critical Psychic killing my turtle in one shot. Ninetales comes in and finishes Alakazam and Venusaur.
I go fishing south of Fuschia and catch a Staryu, name it Diamond and train it up.
The league was uneventful.

This was way tougher than it had any right to be, the good news on losing my starter is that I can start LG with Bulbasaur and FR with Squirtle and give Artist II a chance to do what his daddy couldn't.
