I don't understand why half the shinies are so god damn ugly. It's not like the devs don't understand color theory as the original pokemon often have great palettes. Meanwhile, shiny sprites get a clusterfuck of opposing colors like pinks, greens, browns, oranges, etc or a microscopic tint/brightness/contrast variation so that you can hardly tell that they're shiny in the first place.
