>>56317611>Yeah dude remember the start of FRLG where Red got access to all Kanto starters?Well you do get all the starters in Yellow fwiw, and he has all of them on Mt. Silver too as well as other instances like the PWT and the Battle Tree, I can see why they'd do it. Also adds to the scary factor because they're all incredibly rare and powerful mons, it does sell the feeling of fighting the protag. Just my 2 cents.
>Even if you don't use it the game is so braindead easy, actually easier than the mainline games since you just steal all the retard trainer's godmons and make them 10x betterYeah I don't remember it being too hard which is a shame, but the story changes and general concept were the primary focus I guess. I've come to appreciate the easier hacks in a way, since people can use their favourite shitmons without getting nuked. Hopefully they can add a hard mode or something one day.
>>56317629>Instead it turns into an edgy shitfest with creepypasta fanfiction, prostitute sidequests, on screen deaths and "gore" and unironic political autism where Oak is trying to start WW3 or whatever the fuckWhat a clusterfuck
Been a long while since I played, but I liked them delving into the lore of the "Pokemon War" LT. Surge alluded to, adding explanations for why Kanto and Johto share a league (turns out Kanto is actually JOHTO'S backyard [iirc], hory sheit!), explaining why a 10 year old mute has such an overwhelming command and fast progression that eclipses everyone they encounter -- even decades old veterans, and showing a more "benovolent" side to mob boss Giovanni and a much darker side to our friendly neighborhood Professor Oak.
The gore shit and prostitutes might be a bit much, but we are seeing the friendly world of Kanto through the eyes of hardened criminals and such, so it didn't bug me too much.
