>>56115449 goes in the right direction, a lot of things Carmine says or does can be passed as just banter or the game making the scene comedic as Teal Mask is mostly light-hearted compared to Indigo Disk so a lot of players think of Carmine as the big mean sister, the biggest advantage Kieran got is that we got to see him at his worst and emotionally open to the player I think that's why people love him so much because he opened up to the player and they accepted him as it is while Carmine didn't had the chance to do so.
