In our world and in the pokemon world there are the words evolution and EVOLUTION.
But, while they're the same word, they're different phenomena on each world.
Lets see the difference between these worlds evolution and EVOLUTION.
Pokemon world's EVOLUTION
In the pokemon world, EVOLUTION is a phenomenon that happens within the same specimen. For instance, the Charmander that Professor Oak kindly gave us was nicknamed "Sepultura". Through gaining battle experience, Sepultura evolved into Charmeleon and then grew wings becoming Charizard. It became a different species of pokemon but its still the same Sepultura Professor Oak gave us. At first it can be thought to be similar to our world's "growth", but the changes are larger than those in normal "growth" and it doesn't seem to be related to the passage of time.
Our world's evolution
In our world, evolution doesn't happen within the same specimen. Its a phenomenon that happens after long stretches of time and in masses. For example. For instance, the case of "fishes becoming amphibia and starting to develop on land" is an example of evolution. But, its not like suddenly, one day, the fishes's fins became legs and started to walk on land. More and more, fishes with "more robust fins" started to appear. In order to survive in this scenario, these kind of fish started to increase in number, from those the "even more robust finned" fish appeared....Soon, by repeating this process, "even sturdier fins" that could be called "legs" increased, this is our world's evolution.
"Evolution" is also used in our regular life in our world with a similar meaning to "step forward". If we think about the origin of the word "evolution" there's no mistake here. We keep adding meaning to the word "evolution".
