I'm about to start playing USUM and would like to know: what's the best starter to pick purely from a combat effectiveness perspective? Now I know that starters generally aren't competitive in the grand scheme of things, but I usually have a soft spot for my first mon and like to keep a place for it in my team. But I still want to make the most of it and its abilities! I do not want to pick based on design, all starters are lovely critters and should be treasured by their trainers. I do want to pick based on which starter is most capable of whooping some ass in the greatest variety of situtations. So which one is the one?
