>>28157962>>28157981I hate to say it but I think part of the reason I'm predisposed not to like Gates is from the crippled amount of recruitable Pokemon. Not being able to use my signature duo (Charmander/Totodile) really curbed my enthusiasm also.
Looking back I was probably too harsh on the game's story, since it definitely tried its best to maintain the same level of character development given the lack of (Pokemon) diversity. Even Super has its own share of bullshit plot-wise.
That said I really did enjoy Gate's paradise mechanic. I think most of my hours spent in-game were devoted to that.
