>>37713556It's not just cherrypicking, the newer gens definitely have a rounder feel to the designs and there's definitely a lot more cute-ish Pokémon than there used to be. But you know what? I could not give less of a fuck. I still enjoy the designs and don't prefer one style to the other. That's just what happens when your series has been going on for so long, things change. I get why people prefer the older designs more and there isn't a damn thing wrong with that but it's just how things went, and it's not changing anytime soon. That isn't to say I'll defend anything else Gamefreak has done to the series though because ever since the 3DS there's been a significant drop in effort on their part.
