In every pok?mon game that I've played I've always named my rival Dylan and the protagonist after myself. Dylan was my first ever friend and I like to think that every new game is another adventure. Hell, even in gold I purposely chose Totodile because my rival would choose Cyndaqil (Cyndaquil was his favorite pokemon). Man I miss him.
