(A She/Her, btw) and OP artist liked it so much they wanted to draw it in their style.
To be fair, I think it's the artists taking liberties stylizing the fur collar as you can see they made it longer in the back, but it's true a lot of people don't know about Pokémon Gender Differences or ignores them out of preference.
