Golduck was originally added to the team as a sixth mon, but Soak was so effective he became my Ace. I haven tplayed in a week but im testing out new mons left and right. Tier listing is a guideline not a law. Once I find that perfect team, Ill start laddering again, it works beautifully, but Golduck is not perfect, but he fills his niche better than anyone else.
The strategy DOES FAIL, but its not a gimmick. Its not integral, Ive come back many time by not using Soak.

M-Mawile is only good because of its typing. Without STAB, Huge Power is somewhat lackluster. And being able to SE THunderbolt an EElektross is so Satisfying. Also a SOaked MEtagross is fodder for Grass Knot.
