FUCK. Crasher Wake was a scary fucking fight. I didn't lose anyone, but I came way too close for comfort.
I taught Kurt Shock Wave beforehand - this, in combination with being just the right level going in, having just the right stats, having the Shell Bell equipped, getting just enough EXP for him to level up and learn Recover, and Crasher Wake using a Super Potion when he could've just killed me was what won me the fight. I do want to leave that much up to dumb luck ever again.
The problems were as follows:
>Floatzel was a 3HKO with Shock Wave, instead of a 2HKO
>Floatzel had Pursuit, so while I had Kurt in to take care of Gyarados, I couldn't switch out or I'd die (fucking Roark's Cranidos all over again)
>Floatzel spammed Pursuit constantly
It got to the point where it ended up leaving Kurt at 5 HP before he finally killed it with Shock Wave. I thought it would be smooth sailing from there, but when I switched in Snapdragon to take out Quagsire, he hit him with a crit Slam and left Snapdragon with *TWO* HP. Giga Drain OHKO'd it though so it's all good.
Here's the current team comp:
>Kurt is staying for obvious reasons.
>Selene is also staying for obvious reasons.
>Snapdragon packs a hell of a punch against anything neutral or weak to Grass moves, and has T-Spikes for potential shenanigans later on.
>Echidna is a Steelix now, and she'll stay in the team (or rotation) for the rest of the run if I have anything to say about it. Usually, you can't get the Metal Coat until Iron Island, but the Bronzor I caught just happened to be holding it (5% chance!) so I went ahead and evolved her. I know Steelix isn't terribly strong, but it's the best physical wall in the game, and I'd be a fool not to take advantage of that. She'll get the Earthquake TM as soon as I can find it.
>Scylla is a stopgap until I do the Void glitch again, get the Super Rod, and catch Carvanha in the Great Marsh.
>Sasuke is bound to be replaced eventually, but he's a good HM buddy.
