Just a heads up to everyone, we're currently sitting in a transitional period with the show with the conclusion of the major confrontation between the explorers and the volteccer's and the drop of Lucius lore. Horizon's has essentially finished its 'test lap'. What significance does this have to us, you might be wondering?
This is the period studios would tease/promote potential paradigm shifts, if they judged the show was in need of such. This ranges from completely changing the genre of the show, which would be teased by showing off lots of slice of life-esque content in promotional media, to changing/introducing core members of the cast, which could include a return of old characters.
Meaning if within the next few months we don't start seeing Ash being teased to become part of Horizons, or otherwise see heavy Ash promotional material, then that can only mean that they have zero intention to bring back Ash, ever.
If Horizons was doing worse than the show that came before it, they would not allow the money hemorrhage to continue. They would turn back the clock and return to what was safe, even if it wasn't very profitable, just to keep themselves out of the red.
If we don't start seeing Ash soon, as in very soon, then that means TPC and OLM have no desire to bring him back. And so, he won't be brought back.
