If you pick 18-35 you open dating storyline options with the cooltrainers, rangers, and 20 something gym leaders and have option to open your own gym. If you pick 35+ you get the full boomer storyline and can hit on the starting town's mothers that have no husbands and challenge the starting town oldfag professor to battle over who gets waifu MILF.
