>Maybe I'm projecting my thoughts onto what others might thinkThat's a big flaw right there because people don't think the same and doesn't have the same experience as you have. You could write something you'd think is boring, but it could be pretty entertaining to someone else.
Take a dream sequence for example, if you have a lot of lucid dreams, you'd feel this is pretty banal to write about and therefore might not even write about that, however a massive amount of the population can't control themselves in their dreams, and many don't even have them so writing about that is genuinely interesting for a lot of people.
Even if you feel your fanfiction will be shit and not interesting enough, you'd be surprise at how many people will think otherwise and give your story a go.
