Better Sp. Attack than Nidoking but less impressive Speed, stronger STAB but lacking accuracy and not quite as good typing.

Tinted Lens in conjunction with Speed boosts from Esper Wing might be something, was nice that the transition from Legends to SV changed it from 75 BP/90 Acc to 80 BP/100 Acc to make it more reliable.

Vanilla Braviary’s overly murica flavor is not my favorite even though I was happy to see a true eagle Pokémon when Gen V came out. Repurposing that base design to create a Steller’s Sea-Eagle inspired Pokémon for the game based on ancient Hokkaido, even going as far as to explain that Hisuian Braviary migrates in from the north in winter just like its real life analog does, was an awesome choice.

Rufflet is the exact same: plenty of Normal-types evolve into another type.
