For instance, I find that Raiko is too much fun and cute and waifu for me to not use on every team ever, but you may not feel the same way and would rather run something else like your own favorite instead. And that's completely fine.
Like no one really wants to play this as a serious competitive game, but if the serious competitive mindset is what you find to be the most fun, go for it. If running nothing but your favorites is the most fun, go ahead; odds are you can probably win with that anyways given the balance of this is drastically better than Pokemon (although still not perfect).
