Most people know Emerald has a broken RNG (game always starts on the same seed instead of a random one) but a lot of people don't know that the broken RNG only kicks in on save load. When you start a new game, the RNG works as intended and your starting seed is your trainer ID. So theoretically you could play through Emerald with a functioning RNG if you never shut off the game, meaning you'll hit actually unique frames instead of the same ones over and over every time you load your save.
