It made me learn the complete type chart, start learning what every mon's type and abilities were, where I learned about IVs, EVs, and natures since I wondered why two of the same pokemon wouldn't be the same strength.
I also loved the announcer, the music, the stages, the graphics and animations, the trainer customization.
Though the singleplayer content is disappointing compared to previous console pokemon games, I was quite fond of it.
