Way later on, in Sun & Moon, she asks Ash for his z-ring, and he acts the same way again as though she just asked to get married.
And now we come to the current episode, ep2, in which Misty talks about the red thread of fate. The myth also goes by another name "the red thread of marriage". Ash is surprised, but far less than the prior two times.
So if anything, Misty has already spilled her heart out to Ash.
