>>57342382Some time ago when Archivist's soul was withering a way as a result of Louis using anime cries in his writing, Archivist stated that one should "describe the sound I hear in their in-game cry or use an appropriate sound based on the kind of creature a Pokemon is based on". But what happens when there's a visible incongruence between how a creature should sound and its cry, like Garchomp or Glimmora's alien noise? Some are easy, but what about stuff like Machamp? Do I just have such Pokemon grunting and "huh" ing like a silent videogame protagonist? It feels uncanny because of how human it is, which is why Pokemon like that and Blissey I'm tempted to use anime cries for, though I still use normal noises for most. After all, such Pokemon are more "human", and it wouldn't surprise me if they could say their names like parrots. Like, do you really imagine Blissey chirping like a bird?
The answer to this is probably just "Use your own intuition", but I'm still looking for advice regardless.
