I was thinking though, maybe this can solve the discrepancies in the Pokedex? What if it's just poorly programmed and just puts information on one breed of Pokemon? Like, in Alola there's a a giant Dunsparce snake, which is why it appears as 4ft in the Jhoto Dex but the breed we caught is really less than a foot long? Or Kanto Charizards are just a smaller breed, and Alola bred ones are giant, like in the Anime? Even cooler, it'll explain some of the lore better that is just brushed over.
